Writing With Thorns

Alright, kiddies, it’s time for our favourite game, the Making Of Excuses! In the last couple months since I returned from the far and great Pacific Northwest, I have been exhausting myself with working at a Nino Salvaggio and preparing my graduate school application. I think, however, it is time to return myself to the subject of art and my blog with my usual monomaniacal fervor. I’ve had various ideas for discussions floating in my head for some time now; it’s just a matter of that initial post, now isn’t it? Let’s just hope I can remember them all. Up and coming! A praise of the two Decemberists concerts I attended; the treatise on the consumption of art by the artists; reviews on music, books and more! So stay tuned, my little chickadees, for I shall not fail to entertain you. And now, it is back to tearing my hair out over the simple matter of my personal statement . . .

Well, I have finally given in to the fad of blogs.  Who knew?  To be honest, I’m not sure what is going to go here.  I would like very much to concentrate on topics of writing and culture, influences and maybe a little philosophy.  Who knows, it may not turn out to be that at all.  But that is my intention.  Hopefully in fall of ‘08 I will start my Graduate career at the University of Oregon in the Arts Administration Department and I am sure it will inspire a number of insightful entries.  Any which way, I hope not to end up leaning too far toward the performing arts, though I do feel that playwriting is a far underappreciated form of the art.  Once more, we shall only have to wait and see.  We shall also have to see whether or not I actually keep up a blog with entries at least once a week.  I am not an overly internet-y person.  I have every intention of trying, however.  So until then, dear readers, good night.
